The next two months for the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) are some of the busiest months of the year. To assist with planning, information for these two months have been combined into one News Now segment. Join us in welcoming the 2023 Youth Activities summer interns and JNHE Ambassador Team.
Kase LeRow, McGregor, Texas, and Laramie Coffey, Morrison, Okla., will be arriving in May, assisting in preparing for the Mad Dash to the Hereford Bash in Madison, Wis., and the Faces of Leadership conference in Columbus, Ohio. We’re excited to have them join the team.
Four others will be joining the 2023 Youth Activities Department this summer as JNHE Ambassadors. Myka Blissard, Big Spring, Texas, Paiton Owensby, Folsom, N.M., Kylie Peck, Stockport, Iowa and Emma Preston, Reynolds, Ill., will be joining the team for the mini-internship surrounding the JNHE. We’re excited to bring their skills to the table and successfully host the biggest Bash of the summer in Madison, Wis.
Be sure to check tattoos before leaving for the Mad Dash to the Hereford Bash, and to have all registration paperwork for the cattle with you. Original registration papers must be presented at JNHE check-in, and all animals will have tattoos checked unless the original registration paper has been stamped VERIFIED by an AHA staff member.

All health papers will need to be scanned and uploaded prior to your arrival in Madison.
Texas and Michigan cattle, please pay close attention to health requirements as cattle coming from Texas and Michigan will need to have a 60 Day negative TB Test or they will not be allowed to enter Wisconsin or the Alliant Energy Center.
A fun and interactive way for all states to help support our pipeline of leaders! The National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) Board of Directors and the Hereford Youth Foundation of America (HYFA) are excited to unveil this Mad Dash to the Cash fundraiser and create a way for states to encourage their juniors to participate in leadership and educational events on the national level. Purchase a lot for a chance to win some MAD CASH and support all of our state junior organizations.
Don’t miss out on your chance for $5,000 in cash prizes, with payouts including $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000, while supporting juniors at the grassroots level continuing their growth of leadership and education.
The 2023 Faces of Leadership Conference will be held July 23-26 in Columbus, Ohio, and we are Preparing You for Your Future, with leadership presenters, tours of Select Sires and hands-on learning at the Ohio State University Meat Lab. Adding to the fun will be an evening at the Columbus Zoo, Zoombezi Water Park and barn dance and dinner hosted by the conference sponsors, Rick Malir and Bonnie Coley-Malir.
Registration is open, with Earlybird Registration closing June 15th and the Final Registration July 1. This conference is a highlight of the year so don’t miss your opportunity to attend!
