By investing in the next generation, the program helps develop future breeders, strengthen the breed and support the long-term growth of the Hereford industry.
Each year, select National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) or young American Hereford Association (AHA) members will be awarded a pregnant recipient female carrying elite Hereford genetics, along with two embryos of the same genetics. These genetics will be sourced from top donor females and matings provided by industry-leading breeders and partners.
This opportunity will provide voung cattlemen and women with foundation genetics to begin or grow their Hereford herd, while also encouraging lona-term engagement in the breed.
A sincere thank you to Dale and Nancy Venhuizen, Churchill Cattle Company of Manhattan, Mont., for their vision and leadership in helping launch this pilot program for the next generation of Hereford breeders.
Dale and Nancy invite you to join this initiative as a genetic supplier and help support the future of the Hereford breed. If interested in becoming a partner, please contact Amy Cowan, Director of Youth Activities and Foundation, at acowan@hereford.org.
