Along with its subsidiaries, Certified Hereford Beef (CHB) LLC, Hereford Publications Inc. (HPI), and the American Beef Records Association (ABRA), the American Hereford Association provides programs and services for its members and their customers, while promoting the Hereford breed and supporting education, youth and research.

AHA Youth Activities & Foundation – Summer Intern Program
The American Hereford Association (AHA) will be hiring one-two youth activities interns for the summer of 2026. The purpose of the internship is to provide a multi-faceted learning experience for a college student interested in beef breed association work, public relations and leadership. Also, to provide the AHA with assistance in event planning and management, junior show coverage and leading the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) Board of Directors and membership. Applications are due Jan. 15, 2026.
JNHE Ambasssador Program
Don’t have the schedule for a full summer internship? College students may apply for the Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE) ambassador program. The ambassadors will assist the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) board and American Hereford Association staff during a three-week long internship. Ambassadors will arrive in Kansas City prior to the JNHE and will work through the duration of the event, including the wrap-up. Applications are due Jan. 15, 2026.
AHA/HPI Communications Intern – Summer Program
The American Hereford Association (AHA) and Hereford Publications Inc. (HPI), a subsidiary of the AHA, are offering a dynamic communications internship for college sophomores, juniors or seniors to assist the AHA communications team and the Hereford World staff in the production of communication pieces for the Association, Hereford World and Baldy Advantage magazine. Applications are due Jan. 15, 2026.
AHA Breed Improvement Intern – Summer Program
The American Hereford Association (AHA) and the Hereford Research Foundation (HRF) are seeking a motivated college junior or senior for a hands-on Summer 2026 Research Internship. This unique opportunity places students at the center of industry-leading beef cattle research, working alongside the AHA Breed Improvement team through the National Reference Sire Program (NRSP) at Olsen Ranches, Harrisburg, Neb., one of the most influential commercial cow-calf operations in the United States.
