Claire Norris, a native of Eudora, Kan., joined the Association as the administrative assistant and event coordinator Dec. 1. Norris previously served as an AHA youth activities intern through the 2025 summer and fall, assisting with the JNHE, Young Breeders Competition and World Hereford Conference.

“Serving as the youth activities intern for the AHA over the past six months has been an incredible opportunity,” Norris says. “It showed me just how special this breed, the Association and its members truly are. I am honored to step into this new role and look forward to continuing to serve the AHA.”

Norris is a graduate of Kansas State University (K-State) with a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences and industry, with an emphasis in agricultural communications and marketing and a minor in mass communications.

Norris was actively involved in several organizations at K-State, as a member of the Block and Bridle Club and as an ASI Mentor. She also gained valuable hands-on experience through internships with the American Angus Association and K-State Research and Extension. Additionally, Norris held leadership roles within the animal sciences and industry event planning and communications class.

In her role with the AHA, she will assist with operations, including the organization of voting delegates, Annual Meeting coordination and other office events and activities.

“We are excited to have Claire join the team after serving as a youth activities intern,” says Jack Ward, AHA executive vice president. “She has the ideal skill set and work ethic to fill this role, and a great livestock background.”
