KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sage Krebs, Gordon, Neb., exhibited the grand champion bred-and-owned bull and Logan Boyd, Mays Lick, Ky. showed the reserve grand champion July 19, at the 18th annual VitaFerm® Junior National Hereford Expo in Louisville, Ky. The bred-and-owned bull show was sponsored by Eby Trailers, Blue Ball, Pa.

Cody Sankey, Economy, Ind., sorted 95 bulls to name the champions.


Krebs took the grand and division IV champion titles with K Caliber 602, a March 4, 2016, son of CRR About Time 743 that showed with expected progeny differences (EPDs) of birth weight (BW) 3.9; weaning weight (WW) 54; yearling weight (YW) 88; milk (MM) 30; milk & growth (M&G) 57; rib fat (FAT) -0.06; ribeye area (REA) 0.55; and marbling (MARB) -0.02.


The reserve champion bull, BOYD 31Z Blueprint 6153, was first named division II champion. He is an Oct. 4, 2016, son of R Leader 6964 and showed with EPDs of BW 2.4, WW 64, YW 114, MM 29, M&G 61, FAT 0.02, REA 0.67 and MARB 0.24.

Division IV reserve champion: Fallon Gohr, Madras, Ore., with GOHR Thrill Seeker 6046 by C GOHR Thrill Ride 4105.

Division V champion: Kati Theresa Fehlman, Junction City, Kan., with KT’S Drago 504 by BR Currency 8144 ET.


Division V reserve champion: Sage Krebs, Gordon, Neb., with K Kendrick 551 ET by H/TSR/CHEZ/Full Throttle ET.
