Over 40 producers taking advantage of Hereford genetics in their operations pulled together for another successful sale to add value to Hereford-influenced feeder cattle.

Hosted by Mitchell Livestock Marketing, Mitchell, S.D., the annual Special Hereford and Hereford Influence Feeder Cattle Sale drew in 3,013 head of high-quality feeder cattle on Feb. 20. With a large crowd of buyers and sellers in attendance, a number of the groups demanded a top market price for the market that day.

“I would like to congratulate the Mitchell Livestock team, as well as the area producers, who have put in extra effort to make this sale a success,” says Trey Befort, American Hereford Association director of commercial programs. “It is a great testament to the value that can be added by going the extra mile to put together a respectable offering of high-quality Hereford-influenced feeder cattle.”
