KANSAS CITY, Mo. – H WR Sustainable 5511 ET won the grand champion horned bull title and GKB 2214 Armada 242C ET took grand champion polled bull honors at the Fort Worth National Hereford Show Jan. 29, 2018, during the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show in Fort Worth, Texas.

Donnie Robertson, Yukon, Okla., judged the show. The Hereford show honored Chris Lacy, Kokernot 06 Ranch, Fort Davis, Texas, and the polled show honored the Texas Poll-ettes.

The grand champion horned bull, H WR Sustainable 5511 ET, is owned by Rocking G Land & Cattle Co. LTD, Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, Ward Ranch, Edmond, Okla., and Hoffman Herefords, Thedford, Neb. H WR Sustainable is a March 3, 2015, son of CCR 719 Catapult 109. He first won the senior bull division and showed with expected progeny differences (EPDs) of birth weight (BW) 2.6; weaning weight (WW) 61; yearling weight (YW) 97; milk (MM) 30; milk & growth (M&G) 61; Fat -0.01; ribeye area (REA) 0.37; and marbling (MARB) -0.02. The reserve grand champion horned bull, K Rustic 711 ET, is owned by Sage Krebs, Gordon, Neb., and Carly Kolterman, Garland, Neb. He is a Feb. 28, 2017, son of ECR Who Maker 210 ET and first won champion junior bull calf honors. He showed with EPDs of BW 4.6, WW 52, YW 92, MM 32, M&G 58, Fat -0.02, REA 0.76 and MARB 0.02.

Gary and Kathy Buchholz, Waxahachie, Texas, and Stone Cold Cattle Company, Stanton, Texas, exhibited the grand champion polled bull, GKB 2214 Armada 242C ET by CHAC Mason 2214. The Nov. 3, 2015, bull first took polled senior champion honors and showed with EPDs of BW 3.8, WW 54, YW 86, MM 27, M&G 54, Fat -0.02, REA 0.53 and MARB 0.06. The reserve grand champion polled bull was H Sensation 7437 ET, owned by Hoffman Herefords, Thedford, Neb. The March 11, 2017, son of UPS Sensation 2296 first took polled spring calf honors and showed with EPDs of BW 2.9, WW 61, YW 98, MM 26, M&G 56, Fat 0.01, REA 0.74 and MARB 0.24.

In the female show, BK Dottie Girl 6038D ET won the horned show and BR Amber 6089 won the polled show.

BR Amber 6089 is a May 2, 2016, daughter of Atlas 66T MR Helton 150Y ET, owned by Rylee Schacher, Dumas, Texas. She first won the polled intermediate yearling female division and showed with EPDs of BW 5.7, WW 62, YW 103, MM 21, M&G 52, Fat -0.04, REA 0.39 and MARB 0.11. Reserve grand polled female and champion junior yearling female honors went to Abby Bell, Bristow, Okla., with NCC 743 Breckyn C1857 ET, a Jan. 28, 2016 daughter of CRR About Time 743. She showed with EPDs of BW 3.7, WW 49, YW 77, MM 21, M&G 45, Fat -0.02, REA 0.35 and MARB -0.09.

BK Dottie Girl 6038D ET is an Aug. 4, 2016, daughter of NJW 98S R117 Ribeye 88X ET. She first won the horned senior calf division and showed with EPDs of BW 2.0, WW 55, YW 84, MM 33, M&G 60, Fat -0.01, REA 0.57 and MARB 0.19. Eric Rosson, Milford, Texas, won the reserve grand champion horned female title with C 5280 Ribeye Lady 6006, a Jan. 1, 2016 daughter of CRR 5280. She first won the horned junior yearling female division and showed with EPDs of BW 4.1, WW 59, YW 87, MM 32, M&G 62, Fat -0.01, REA 0.45 and MARB 0.05.

Gary and Kathy Buchholz of GKB Cattle, Waxahachie, Texas, were named horned premier
exhibitor and polled premier exhibitor. Receiving horned premier breeder was Copeland Show Cattle, Nara Visa, N.M. Polled premier exhibitor was awarded to Colyer Herefords, Bruneau, Idaho.
