MADISON, Wis. — States and exhibitors gathered their best groups for “The Hereford Masters in Madison,” July 7-8, in Madison, Wis., for the state group and produce-of-dam shows. Breck Debnam, Madison, Ga., evaluated the state group shows, and Randy Mullinix, Toulon, Ill., and Jake Bohnsack, Taylor Ridge, Ill., judged the produce-of-dam show.

“If this doesn’t get you fired up about the future of the Hereford breed, then you probably landed in the wrong place this week,” said Debnam during the selection of the grand champion state group-of-give. “They’re absolutely incredible from top to bottom. I think every state has a very high-quality set of cattle out here.”

The grand champion produce-of-dam title went to Kaytlyn and Easton Harfst, Battle Creek, Mich., with a group out of HC Emma 2012. Reserve grand champion produce-of-dam: Aidyn Barber, Channing, Texas, with a group out of BR Amber 6089. New Mexico showed the grand champion group-of-three. Exhibitors from Montana were named reserve grand champion. Oklahoma topped the group-of-five show, and Texas claimed reserve grand champion.
