MADISON, Wis. — There’s something special about Sunday at the Masters — just like Friday at the VitaFerm^® Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE). In the last round, Landry Allan, Nocona, Texas, and Harper Rose Starnes, Fort Payne, Ala., rose to the top of the owned female show at “The Hereford Masters in Madison,” July 10 in Madison, Wis.

Tyler Cates, Modoc, Ind., and Kyle Gillooly, Wadley, Ga., sorted the 177-head horned female and 560-head polled owned female shows. “I live an hour from Augusta, Ga., home of the Masters. And I don’t know if any of you have been there or not, but anybody that has can testify that you can’t appreciate it until you see it in person,” Gillooly said before the grand horned female selection. “The attention to detail, the precision, the manicured landscape — azaleas, trees, all of it is just beautiful in person. Much like the Hereford junior national.”

BACC 241 Haley 472 won the polled female show. Exhibited by Allan, she is a Nov. 17, 2024, daughter of UPS Sensation 2296 ET. The duo also claimed division XIV champion in the polled show. After claiming top honors in the bred-and-owned female show, BKMT GHC Maternal Treasure ET, shown by Grady and Hudson Carter, Stratford, Okla., was named the reserve grand champion owned polled female. She is an Oct. 10, 2024, female by BK Red River H18 ET from division XV.

Starnes brought home the grand champion banner in the horned show. Her winning entry, T/R LC Brielles Grace 25032 ET, also won division VI. She is a Feb. 15, 2025, daughter of KLD RW Marksman D87 ET. “I think every detail, every supporter, every minute, every mile — everything’s just special right now,” Starnes said after her female was named grand champion in the horned show.

CMCC Make A Splash 4072M and Hayden Hoffman, Thedford, Neb., received the reserve grand champion horned female handshake. Hoffman’s female is a Nov. 12, 2024, daughter of KJ 753D Tomahawk 605K ET, from division VII.
