Certified Hereford Beef (CHB®) attended the 20th Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska, June 2-3, at the Lonesome River Ranch in Anselmo, Neb. The annual event brought in more than 3,000 attendees and a record-number of 900 volunteers.
The Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska changes locations throughout the state every year. The charitable organization’s mission is to bring awareness of and to help find a cure for cancer. The event also promotes beef in a healthy diet, showcases rural Nebraska and raises money for healthcare research.
“The ball is so much bigger than cancer,” said Cynthia Duncan, co-chairmen of the 2017 Cattlemen’s Ball. “It crosses county and state lines. People put their differences aside all in an effort to eradicate cancer.”
The event also hosted a live auction and a performance by country singers Eric Paslay and Rodney Atkins, all in an effort to raise money for cancer and healthcare research.
CHB welcomed the opportunity to host a booth in the educational tent and interact with event attendees. The CHB team included Trey Befort, CHB director of commercial programs, and regional brand managers, Ron Santoro and Tim Norsten. The trio served up CHB strip steaks, ribeyes, tenderloins and tri-tips fresh from the grill.
“We provided information about the CHB program and handed out samples donated by Greater Omaha Packing to nearly 1,000 people,” Befort said.
The team agreed they received a great reception of the product and visitors enjoyed the information and samples provided.
“We were proud to have CHB be a part of this event which goes back to a great cause,” Befort said. “We would also like to thank Greater Omaha for donating the product we served. We appreciate their support of our program and the Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska.”
