MADISON, Wis. — The bred-and-owned bull show at the VitaFerm^® Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE) is a testament to the herds National Junior Hereford Association members are building. Cruz Colyer and C PHR Empire 5302 ET were the winners of the bred-and-owned bull show July 8, 2026, during “The Hereford Masters in Madison.”

“We’ve been trying to win this for a while,” Colyer said. “It’s a pretty cool accomplishment that we’ve been wanting to do for a while so we’re pretty excited about this.”

Montie Soules, Kansas City, Mo., evaluated the 60-head bull show in Madison, Wis. “Herefords have always been dear to my heart and always will be,” Soules said during the selection of the grand champion bull. “More importantly, these junior members out here are a great group of young people, and they’ve been empowered by you, as parents.”

Colyer’s grand champion bred-and-owned bull is an Aug. 30. 2025, son of Land SHR Manhattan 2029ET. He also won division II in the bull show.

The Barber twins, Henley and Beckett, Amarillo, Texas, exhibited the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull — BR GKB Hercules N102 ET. The April 1, 2025, son of KLD RW Marksman D87 ET, was also named division IV champion.
