Earlier this summer, Terrel Vineyard, a young Nebraska cowboy, was struck dead by lightning along with his horse while doctoring calves in the pasture. Vineyard, worked for Van Newkirk Herefords, Oshkosh, Neb., for many years. To assist the family, Van Newkirk Herefords is offering pick of their 2023 Spring heifer crop, with free delivery anywhere in the Continental U.S., courtesy of Loomis Trucking. All proceeds will go to Vineyard’s wife Stacey, and their three girls.
Everyone considered Vineyard their best friend. Terrel was known to be extremely humble, with a quick wit, a kind heart, deep character, and an “always putting everyone ahead of himself” mindset. He was the first to offer help to his neighbors and friends. He and Stacey were married this winter. His family and community said farewell to Terrel 2 months to the day ahead of their planned wedding reception. Terrel and Stacy, along with their daughters, had just started their own cowherd and were working hard to make all their dreams come true.
In 100+ years the Van Newkirk’s have never offered a pick of their herd, but this young man and his family are very special to the ranching community and had just established their own place and herd. For more details or to contact the Van Newkirk family, details are posted below.
