DECEMBER/JANUARY HIGHLIGHTS

‘Tis the season, and the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) is continuing to celebrate the festivities! Applications for the 2024 BOLD conference are live, it will be held April 4-7, in Desdemona, Texas. Applications will close on Feb. 1. The Western States Hereford Show kicks off the month of December in Reno, Nev., and cattle arrive to the HRC Feed Yards, in Scott City, Kan., for the 2024 NJHA Fed Steer Shootout contest.

Additionally, the applications for the 2024 Youth Activities Internship and the JNHE Ambassador program are open and close on Jan. 15, 2024. Hiring one-two full-summer interns to help with both the JNHE in Grand Island, Neb., and the Faces of Leadership conference in Fort Worth, Texas, the team at the AHA is excited to find the perfect individuals to join for the summer. The Ambassador Team will be dedicated to the JNHE and travel to Grand Island, during their mini-internship. If you know a junior member who will not be showing this summer, or any individual in college who wants experience in breed associations, have them apply today!

HEREFORD SEASON OF GIVING

The Hereford Season of Giving, hosted by the Hereford Youth Foundation of America (HYFA), is back for the second year in a row and will be Dec. 4-8, 2023. Throughout the weeklong event, challenge gifts will be unwrapped as online and mailed donations are received to support HYFA’s pillars of education, leadership, research and scholarship.

Thanks to an outpouring of support, in 2022 HYFA celebrated $135,000 in the first ever season of giving annual campaign. In 2023, the goal is $150,000 and 250 donors. The foundation invites you to celebrate the season and join this fundraising effort to benefit all of the NJHA scholarship, leadership and educational opportunities and HYFA research programs. Donors may specify which pillar they would like to give to at the time of giving. GRAND DRIVE TO 25

To celebrate 25 years, it is only fitting to look ahead to the next 25 and sustaining the legacy of the Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE). To commemorate this milestone, HYFA is offering special Grand Drive to 25 donor packages to all of our valued partners who make up the history and future of the JNHE.

We are so thankful for the first partners who kicked off the fundraising for the “Grand Daddy of ‘Em All,” during the Ladies of the Royal Sale, by purchasing the iconic lot one street sign. Hoffman Ranch, Thedford, Neb., and Stellpflug Cattle Co., LLC, Glenrock, Wyo., joined together, topping the sale at an impressive $25,000, with the partners choosing to double down on their support for a total commitment of $50,000 over two years, securing the sponsorship in the polled female show at the JNHE.

The 2024 JNHE will be held in Grand Island, Neb., July 6-12, and we tip our hats to these generous donors. One year, two, three, four and five year packages are available and may be customized to fit each donor.
