Tyler is the sixth generation on his family’s operation. They exhibit cattle across the nation and raise purebred Angus, hosting an annual bull sale each February. Tyler judged livestock through 4-H and participated in several national contests, gaining 4-H All-American status. Since then, he judged competitively at Hutchinson Community College, highlighted by many top-10 finishes and ended his collegiate judging career at South Dakota State University (SDSU), where he had a successful run and was a part of an incredibly talented team that had an immense amount of success. Tyler was a member of the third overall collegiate judging team and was named the high scoring individual overall and in reasons, at the National Collegiate Livestock Judging Contest in 2020.
Tyler graduated last May from SDSU with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. He judged the Simmental bred-and-owned show alongside his dad, Scott, as well as at numerous jackpot and regional shows across the Midwest. Tyler works full time at his family’s operation and looks forward to the future.
