KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ramsey Hot Pants 204 ET and KLM Rollin Harley 107J ET were named grand champions on the green chips at the 2023 North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 14. Judges Max Stotz, Skiatook, Okla., and Dale Kottkamp, Clayton, Ind., sorted the 148-head show.
“I’ve been really blessed through all my years in the Hereford breed to be surrounded by some really good people,” Stotz said before selecting the grand champion bull. “Not only my family, but there’s people around and in this ring that I’ve worked with and worked for, and I’ve just been blessed in my career to be part of this Hereford organization. Thank you Hereford breeders for allowing me to be part of your family for this many years.”
In the female show, grand champion honors went to Ramsey Hot Pants 204 ET, owned by Ramseys Herefords, Greenfield, Ind. The champion junior yearling female is a Feb. 5, 2022, daughter of BR Hutton 4030ET.
Reserve grand champion female honors were awarded to SSF KKH 15U Olaina 303 ET, exhibited by Piper Seiss, Thurmont, Md. The Jan. 20, 2023, daughter of H The Profit 8426 ET also won the champion junior heifer calf title.
The grand champion bull banner went to KLM Rollin Harley 107J ET, owned by Colten Miigerl, Ravenna, Neb. The April 16, 2021, son of TFR KU Roll the Dice 1326 was first named champion senior bull.
WF Pit Boss 1214 ET, owned by GKB Cattle, Desdemona, Texas, and Wheeler Farm, Chickasha, Okla., was named reserve grand champion bull. The Oct. 5, 2021, son of CH High Roller 756 ET, also won reserve champion senior bull honors.
Levi Womack, Pembroke, Ky., showed the champion cow-calf pair, Womack Sensational Lady 047 ET. She is a March 8, 2020, daughter of UPS Sensation 2296, with a March female by 4M X06 Harleys Playtime 705 ET at side. Kaitlyn Keith, Campbellsville, Ky., exhibited the reserve champion cow-calf pair, HAF 7437 Ella I037 ET. She is a May 3, 2021, daughter of H Montgomery 7437 ET, with an April bull by Churchill Kingdom 128J ET at side.
The premier exhibitor honors went to Hurricane Hefty Ranch, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Hendricks Cattle Co., Troy, Ala. Purple Reign Cattle Co., Toulon, Ill., was named premier breeder.
