MAY HIGHLIGHTS
The National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) is not slowing down this summer. The Grand Daddy of ‘Em All, celebrating 25 years of the Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE) and Faces of Leadership conference are both setting it up to be an exciting and fun-filled summer. Leading up to these staple events, state and regional shows are prepping juniors for the largest stage in Grand Island, Neb., and the next leaders of the industry will take the spotlight as they travel to Fort Worth where even “Leadership is Bigger in Texas.”
The month of May is filled with dates and deadlines to keep top of mind this busy summer. Do not miss a single update or change, and be sure to follow along with the NJHA and Hereford Youth Foundation of America (HYFA) on their social media channels.

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT – GRAND DRIVE TO 25 DIVISION SALE OPENS
To celebrate 25 years, it is only fitting to look ahead to the next 25 and sustaining the legacy of the JNHE. To commemorate this milestone, HYFA and NJHA are offering multiple options for you to show your support of the largest junior breed show in the nation.
Options to support include Grand Drive to 25 donor packages. One year, two, three, four and five year packages are available and may be customized to fit each donor. Additional sponsor opportunities include JNHE Show Program advertisements as well as trade show and Bridging the Gap vendor space. To purchase an ad in the show program or reserve a booth space, please reach out to Bailey Clanton at bclanton@hereford.org.
The NJHA Board is excited to unveil the Grand Drive to 25 Division Sale that is happening right now on Sale Day. ENTRIES ARE OPEN FOR THE GRAND DADDY OF ‘EM ALL
Entries are open for the 2024 VitaFerm JNHE in Grand Island, Neb., July 6-12, with the early bird deadline marked for May 15. We are so excited to welcome Hereford families from across the country to join us for the event of the summer, but first we encourage you to complete the JNHE Entry Check list to ensure all of your entries are in order upon arriving at “The Grand Daddy of ‘Em All.”
Show rules, judges, contest information and a tentative schedule are all available at the JNHE Resources page. Check in often to find all the details and information you need as you prepare for you trip.
2024 JNHE CHECK LIST
RUN FOR THE NJHA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
For those who will be interested in applying for the NJHA Board of Directors, applications are open now. On behalf of the NJHA, the board of directors travels to various activities, meeting fellow members and sharing their thoughts and experiences of Hereford involvement. They also get first-hand experience at leadership, cooperation and organization.
The NJHA Board also makes recommendations for new programs and ideas to the American Hereford Association Board of Directors, helps train other juniors and promote the Hereford breed at various activities and events throughout the year. Being on the NJHA board of directors is a responsibility that should be taken seriously. Before applying, please make sure to read through the Board Agreement and Code of Conduct that you sign once elected, stating you are capable of meeting those requirements. Applications will be due June 1, including the state advisor submitted Director Nomination Form.
BEYOND THE SHOWRING AT THE JNHE – CONTEST DEADLINE IS JUNE 1
Are you ready to compete outside of the showring at the Grand Daddy of ‘Em All? The entries for all contests held in conjunction with the 2024 JNHE are open and the NJHA is excited to welcome all members to participate in educational contests and programs during the 25th JNHE.
Through educational programs at the JNHE, Hereford youth have the opportunity to gain invaluable skills that will enable them to become self-directing, educated leaders in today’s world. We are continuing to grow and excitement builds as we head to Grand Island.
