KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lauren May, Mineral Point, Wis., won the horned owned female show with Purple Iris 145G ET and Vada and Hans Vickland, Longmont, Colo., and their heifer, H KFL Pixie 9372 ET, won the polled owned female show at the 2020 VitaFerm® Junior National Hereford Expo, July 15, in Kansas City, Mo.

Dr. Dan Shike of Sadorus, Ill., and associate judge Kyle Colyer of Bruneau, Idaho, judged the owned show with 208 horned heifers and 472 polled heifers exhibited.

The reserve grand champion polled owned heifer banner went to Jillian Emerson, Prairie Grove, Ark., with BK Golden Hour 9057G. Vada and Hans Vickland, Longmont, Colo., with H BL Miss Spice 923 ET, took home reserve grand champion honors in the horned owned heifer show.

Vickland’s grand champion polled heifer, H KFL Pixie 9372 ET, was first named Division VIII champion. She was a Jan. 23, 2019, daughter of H Montgomery 7437 ET. Emerson’s reserve grand champion polled owned female, a Sept. 3, 2019, daughter of H FHF Authority 6026 ET, was also Division II champion.

Topping the horned owned heifer show was May’s Division II champion, a May 7, 2019, daughter of UPS Sensation 2296 ET. Vickland’s reserve grand champion horned owned female, H BL Miss Spice 923 ET, was first named Division IV champion. She was a Feb. 24, 2019, daughter of H Deberard 7454 ET.

The polled owned female show was sponsored by Hoffman Ranch, Thedford, Neb. The horned owned female show was sponsored by HME Herefords, Winterville, Ga., and Hopper Herefords, Maysville, Ky.
