Herefords came to Cowtown Feb. 2 for the 2026 Fort Worth Stock Show (FWSS). Judge Tom Hawk, Earlville, Ill., evaluated the 103-head female and 37-head bull show in Texas’ W.R. Watt Arena.
The Texas Hereford Association (THA) annually names two show honorees. The horned show honored Curtis Younts, recognizing his decades-long commitment to the Hereford breed, leadership and unwavering support of Hereford youth. Dale Ousley was selected as the polled show namesake — honoring his steadfast commitment to Herefords, as he has served as the THA Commercial Hereford Sale superintendent for almost 40 years.
Bull show
BR GKB Lucchese L177 ET, shown by GKB Cattle, Desdemona, Texas, and Barber Ranch, Channing, Texas, was named the grand champion polled bull and champion senior bull. Their bronze-bull-winning entry is a June 2, 2023, son of KLD RW Marksman D87 ET. Purple Reign Cattle Co., Toulon, Ill., showed the reserve grand champion polled bull and champion yearling with Purple Proud Boy 50M ET, a March 17, 2024, son of FTZS Dignified 104J.
Stellpflug All That ET claimed grand champion horned bull and champion senior bull honors. Shown by Hoffman Ranch, Thedford, Neb.; Lindskov’s LT Ranch, Isabel, S.D.; and Buck Cattle Co., Madill, Okla., he is a Jan. 30, 2023, son of JDH AH Benton 8G ET. JCS Eastwood 4862 ET received the reserve grand champion horned bull and champion yearling titles. Exhibited by Nolan Herefords, Gilmer, Texas; Copeland & Sons LLC, Nara Visa, N.M.; and Stephen Decker, Gilmer, Texas, he was born March 28, 2024, and sired by Churchill High Noon 8339F ET.
Female show
In the polled female show, KLD HAW Mercedes Benz D404 ET and Suter Clark, Gretna, Va., won grand champion and champion spring yearling. Clark’s female is a March 7, 2024, daughter of T/R BPF AmericanClassic 561CET. Reserve grand champion polled female and champion junior heifer calf honors went to Lander Fitzsimmons, Perry, Okla. His female, FTZS Linda 251N ET, is a Feb. 28, 2025, daughter of CH High Roller 756 ET.
Express Ranches, Yukon, Okla., and GKB Cattle showed GKB 1314 Cher M127 ET, the grand champion horned female and champion spring yearling. She is a March 23, 2024, daughter of BR GKB Winchester 1314. BK Many Sweets 457M, a March 2, 2024, daughter of BK Red River H18 ET shown by Ella Weldon, Piedmont, Okla., was the reserve grand champion horned female. She was first named reserve champion spring yearling female.
Other show honors
Following the selection of champions, Cruz Colyer, Bruneau, Idaho, won polled premier exhibitor, and GKB Cattle received the horned premier exhibitor title. T/R Cattle Co., Glencoe, Okla., took home the horned premier breeder banner, and Buck Cattle Co. was named the polled premier breeder.
