KANSAS CITY, Mo. – B&C Stockman 6026D ET won the grand champion horned bull title and C Black Hawk Down ET took grand champion polled bull honors at the Fort Worth National Hereford Show Jan. 30, 2017, during the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show in Fort Worth, Texas.

Matt Copeland, Nara Visa, N.M., judged the 244-head show. The Hereford show honored Gray Wynn Klein Ranch, Henrietta, Texas, and the polled show honored Barbara Metch, Canton, Texas.

The grand champion horned bull, B&C Stockman 6026D ET, is owned by Austin Breeding, Miami, Texas; Express Ranches, Yukon, Okla.; and the Stockman Group, Miami, Texas. B&C Stockman 6026D is a March 28, 2016, son of C Stockman 2059 ET. He first won the spring calf division and showed with expected progeny differences (EPDs) of birth weight (BW) 5.1; weaning weight (WW) 50; yearling weight (YW) 78; milk (MM) 30; milk & growth (M&G) 55; Fat -0.03; ribeye area (REA) 0.55; and marbling (MARB) 0.05. The reserve grand champion horned bull, C Bailees Miles 4312 ET, is owned by Potter Ranch Herefords, Winton, Calif.; Colyer Herefords, Bruneau, Idaho; and W4 Ranch, Morgan, Texas. He is a March 18, 2014, son of C Miles McKee 2103 ET and first won champion senior bull honors. He showed with EPDs of BW 2.8; WW 53; YW 80; MM 39; M&G 65; Fat -0.04; REA 0.47 and MARB 0.09.

Black Hills Herefords, Olympia, Wa.; Black Hawk Down Syndicate, Bruneau, Idaho; and Colyer Herefords, Bruneau, Idaho, exhibited the grand champion polled bull, C Black Hawk Down ET by WLB Winchester Powerball 27. The Jan. 14, 2015, bull first took polled yearling champion honors and showed with EPDs of BW 2.4; WW 59; YW 87; MM 26, M&G 56; Fat -0.04; REA 0.65 and MARB -0.05. The reserve grand champion polled bull was MCKY Rico 6480 ET, owned by McKay Cattle Co., Orlando, Okla. The Feb. 14, 2016, son of CRR About Time 743 first took polled junior calf honors and showed with EPDs of BW 3.3; WW 50; YW 81; MM 24; M&G 49; Fat -0.05; REA 0.47 and MARB -0.04.

In the female show, DPH 109 6129 Geisha 501 ET won the horned show and H AH Kelly 6189 ET won the polled show.
DPH 109 6129 Geisha 501 ET is a Jan. 17, 2015, daughter of CRR 719 Catapult 109 owned by Bryce McCutchen, Conroe, Texas. She first won the junior yearling female division and showed with EPDs of BW 3.2; WW 63; YW 103; MM 25; M&G 57; Fat -0.02; REA 0.43 and MARB 0.00. Reserve grand horned female and reserve junior yearling female honors went to Piper Colyer, Bruneau, Idaho, with SULL Diana 5355C ET, a Feb. 16, 2015, daughter of C Miles McKee 2103 ET. She showed with EPDs of BW 2.3; WW 48; YW 77; MM 35; M&G 59; Fat -0.02; REA 0.61 and MARB 0.15.

H AH Kelly 6189 ET, a Feb, 27, 2016, daughter of H/TSR/CHEZ/Full Throttle ET is owned by Carlisle and Madeline Braman, Refugio, Texas. She first won the polled junior calf division and showed with EPDs of BW 4.2; WW 66; YW 105; MM 29; M&G 62; Fat -0.02; REA 0.76 and MARB 0.01. Dustin Theuret, Kenedy, Texas, won the reserve grand champion polled female title with GKB 108 Breeze B198 75C, a March 4, 2015, daughter of LED GKB Legend 108ET. She first won the polled spring yearling female division and showed with EPDs of BW 3.8; WW 58; YW 93; MM 27; M&G 56; Fat -0.02; REA 0.55 and MARB 0.13.

Gary and Kathy Buchholz of GKB Cattle, Waxahachie, Texas, were named horned premier exhibitor and breeder and polled premier exhibitor and breeder. Perez Cattle Co., Nara Visa, N.M., exhibited the best six head.
