Over the next few months we’ll be introducing you to members of our staff. This week we’re highlighting one of the people within Hereford Productions Inc. (HPI) and creative services, Sharon Blank.

Creative Services is made up of a talented creative team for promotional projects. The experienced staff can take sale catalogs, directories, brochures, flyers or other projects to the next level.

Where is your hometown?
Right here. Kansas City, Mo.

What is your title at the AHA
Graphic designer

What department are you a part of?
HPI and Creative Services.

What are you responsible for on a typical day?
Hereford World ads, catalogs, directories, postcards, tradeshow banners, stall cards — whatever the breeders need.

How long you’ve worked at the AHA?
I started in December, 2016.

What is your favorite part of the job?
Being a part of this awesome team in HPI/Creative Services. We have fun and work well together. We laugh a lot. But we get a lot of quality work accomplished as well.

Why do you like working at the AHA?
AHA is a great place to work. Promoting livestock is somewhat new to me, but I’ve learned a lot and continue to learn something new every day. I bring years of catalog production experience to the team, so this is a great fit for me.

What are some hobbies you have outside of work?
My husband and I have two cocker spaniel puppies — Lady Arya Bark and Trapper Dog. We tend to name our pets after television show characters.
Concerts — My husband has always been a music lover. There is always music playing at our house.
Vegetable gardening: mostly tomatoes; some lettuces, green beans and potatoes.
I enjoy all kinds of needlework: knitting, crocheting, embroidery, counted cross stitch and needlepoint.
