Ty Drach, Cashion, Okla., joined the American Hereford Association (AHA) as southwest region field representative May 9. He will serve Hereford producers in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
In his role, Drach will assist with Association activities and services and represent AHA members in the region. Drach will help commercial users of Hereford genetics and Hereford breeders utilize AHA promotional programs, in addition to attending Hereford sales and events. He will work to expand relationships across the industry, while providing marketing assistance for Hereford breeders.
“It is exciting to welcome Ty to the AHA,” says Kane Aegerter, AHA director of seedstock marketing. “Ty’s strong upbringing in raising high-quality livestock, combined with his successful livestock evaluation career, has provided him with a deep understanding of the industry and a keen eye for quality cattle. His passion, knowledge and commitment to the beef industry will make him a tremendous asset as he assumes responsibility for the southwest territory.”
An Illinois native, Drach graduated from Oklahoma State University (OSU) with his master’s degree in animal science in 2026. He holds a bachelor’s degree in animal science from OSU and attended Black Hawk East (BHE), competing on the livestock judging teams at both colleges. He was a member of the national champion team at OSU and earned All-American honors at BHE. He previously served as the OSU assistant livestock judging coach and has completed internships with ST Genetics and Earlybird Nutrition. Drach has a lifelong passion for livestock. He grew up exhibiting Simmental cattle and remains involved in his family’s operation.
“I’m excited to hit the ground running with the AHA and connect with breeders across my territory,” Drach says. “Building relationships and providing outstanding service to our members is important to me, and I’m eager to work alongside breeders to help position their genetics at the forefront as the Hereford breed continues to grow and build strong momentum.”
