Clark, Tebo Win Top Honors in Showmanship Contest at VitaFerm Junior National Hereford Expo

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Chancee Clark, Muldrow, Okla., was chosen as champion senior showman on July 19, 2022, at the VitaFerm®Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE) in Louisville, Ky. Reserve champion honors were awarded to Gage Tebo, Leesburg, Ind. Sullivan Supply and Stock Show University, Dunlap, Iowa, sponsored the showmanship contest. 

After narrowing the field from more than 130 entries, the top 10 seniors competed in the finals, which included a fitting contest. 

Rounding out the top 10 senior showmen: third place – Lauren Jones, Darlington, Wis.; fourth place – Chesney Effling, Highmore, S.D.; fifth place – Bryden Barber, Channing, Texas; sixth place – Payton Farmer, Brownstown, Ind.; seventh place – Tar Tut, Rushford, Minn.; eighth place – Maddie O’Leary, Brock, Texas; ninth place – Kynlee Dailey, Kingston, Okla.; 10th place – Sara Harfst, Jacksonville, Ore. 

In the intermediate division, Fallon Gohr, Madras, Ore., was named the champion showman and Beau Ann Graves, Chillicothe, Mo., was reserve champion. 

Claiming the junior division champion title was Madelyn Norvell, Nettle, Okla., and reserve champion was Cierra Collins, Frederick, Okla.

Josie Beltz, Canton, Kan., was selected champion peewee showman and Ella Weldon, Piedmont, Okla., was reserve champion peewee showman. 

Judge sisters Ashley Judge-Wagner, Loveland, Colo., and Jessie Judge, El Paso, Ill., judged the senior and intermediate showmanship competition, and were assisted in the placing of the top 10 senior showmen by Jacob Wolfrey, 2022 Hereford Herdsman of the Year. Mother and son duo Darla Aegerter, Seward, Neb., and Kane Aegerter, Lincoln, Neb., evaluated the junior and peewee shows.
