MADISON, Wis. — In an 80-head steer show, Tyree and Delaney Figge, Onaga, Kan., sorted to the top spot July 8 at “The Hereford Masters in Madison” with FBF HR Lightning 5F02. Montie Soules, Kansas City, Mo., judged the steer show at the 2026 VitaFerm^Ò Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE).

“I don’t think you realize how much quality I was able to see this morning as we have seen a really great group of cattle come out here,” Soules said before the selection of the grand champion steer.

The Figge siblings’ grand champion steer is a 1,524-pound son of CH High Roller 756. He was a bred-and-owned entry, winning division III and the bred-and-owned steer show. “My sister … she was crying on the phone because she was so proud,” Tyree said following his win. “Me and her, we did raise that steer, and it really meant a lot.”

Logan Cady, New Windsor, Md., exhibited the reserve grand champion and reserve division III steer, GSF Taylor N101 ET, a 1,449-pound son of CH High Roller 756 ET. GOSS 3575 334L El Paso 2501, with a 1,369-pound son of Stellpflug Thomas County3625BET, shown by Keaton and Kayston Goss, Vinton, Calif., was the reserve champion bred-and-owned steer and reserve champion division III in the bred-and-owned steer show.
