Grand and champion division III steer, Rilynn Buesing, Stockton, Iowa, with JBS Steer 3, a 1,350-pound son of CH High Roller 756 ET.
Grand Island, Neb. — There were no ifs, ands or bucks about it when Rilynn Buesing, Stockton, Iowa, grabbed the grand champion steer banner at the 25th annual VitaFerm® Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE), “Grand Daddy of ’Em All,” on July 10 in Grand Island, Neb.
Brigham Stewart, Washington, Kan., evaluated 109 steers to find the champions.
Buesing’s grand champion steer, JBS Steer 3, weighed in at 1,350 pounds and won champion in division III. The winning entry is a March 1, 2023, son of CH High Roller 756 ET.
Landon and Collin Deatsman’s, Leesburg, Ind., garnered the reserve grand champion, reserve champion division III and grand champion bred-and-owned steer honors with DeatsmanNuke 15L.He is a March 1, 2023 son of CH High Roller 756 ET and weighed 1,377 pounds.
Rylin Lienemann, Hildreth, Neb., exhibited the reserve champion bred-and-owned steer, LVL High Roller 31L. Winning division I of the bred-and-owned show, he is a March 20, 2023, son of CH High Roller 756 ET, weighing in at 1,110 pounds.
“There is no doubt that the kind of cattle I like is here,” Stewart said prior to the champion steer selection. “I am very impressed with the quality of the cattle and the kids here.”
