As the summer comes to a close, the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) and Hereford Youth Foundation of America (HYFA) are taking a moment to reflect on a season filled with memorable experiences and meaningful opportunities. From the 2026 VitaFerm® Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE), “The Hereford Masters in Madison”, to the Faces of Leadership Conference in Boise, Idaho, July showcased the very best of Hereford youth.

A LOOK BACK ON THE COURSE
From record-setting participation and outstanding competition to lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories, the 2026 JNHE, “The Hereford Masters in Madison”, was a week to remember. Junior Hereford members from 44 states came together to compete, learn, lead and celebrate the Hereford breed, making Madison the place where champions were crowned and the next generation of leaders continued to grow. HEREFORD LEADERS RISE IN BOISE
The 2026 Faces of Leadership Conference brought NJHA members to Boise, Idaho, for four days of leadership development, industry exploration and unforgettable experiences. From whitewater rafting and interactive leadership workshops to tours of J.R. Simplot Company, Boise State University and Colyer Herefords, attendees gained valuable skills, built meaningful connections and discovered new opportunities to lead within the Hereford breed and beyond. An investment in the future. Apply for a scholarship offered by the Hereford Youth Foundation of America by the deadline of Sept. 1. Every application represents an investment in the future of the Hereford breed, the beef industry and the next generation of leaders.
Scholarship recipients will be recognized during the American Hereford Association (AHA) Annual Meeting and Educational Forum in Kansas City, Mo., Friday, October 23.
