Over $40,000 raised for National Junior Hereford Association
July 9, 2018
It was a big week in Grand Island, Neb. for the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) at the Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE). With over 1,500 head of cattle shown over a period of four days, and hundreds of youth members participating, the NJHA considers it to be a huge success.
One of the many goals for the week was to raise some money for the NJHA to use throughout the year for various expenses including the Faces of Leadership conference and travel expenses for the twelve individuals serving on the NJHA board of directors. By the end of the week, the total was up to over $40,000. The NJHA accomplished this by holding a silent auction and auctioning off an original painting by artist, Michelle Weber of Michelle Weber Studio. In total, the silent auction raised $20,000 and the original painting, “Not Just a Day Dream,” sold for $20,500 to JB Show Cattle, Moss Neck Herefords and Nolan Herefords.
Thank you to all donors and buyers for supporting the NJHA. JB Ranch
