The GKB Super States Contest was designed to reward the state junior associations for their members' involvement in the contests and exhibition of their cattle throughout the week at the Junior National Hereford Expo.
 
There will be two divisions based on the number of cattle that are physically entered at the JNHE. The divisions are: Division 1) Less than 25 head; Division 2) 25 head or more.
 
Points are awarded to the top three placings of the individuals or teams (depending on the contest). In the case where a contest has more than one division, points will be awarded for each division, unless otherwise specified.
 
Cattle Exhibition                  
Grand Champion — 10 pts.
Reserve Grand Champion — 5 pts.
Division Champion — 10 pts.
Reserve Division Champion — 5 pts.
Class Winner — 3 pts.
State Group of 5 Winner — 10 pts.

**Division champions will include champion standard and bred and owned cow-calf pair and champion steer.
**Reserve division champions will include reserve champion standard and  bred and owned cow-calf pair and reserve champion steer.

 
JNHE Activity
National Director — 5 pts.
NJHA Candidate — 3 pts.
Herdsman Nominee — 5 pts.                                                 
State Queen — 3 pts.
**Queens must be actively participating in JNHE

2nd — 9 pts.
3rd — 8 pts. 
4th — 7 pts. 
5th — 6 pts.

6th — 5 pts.
7th — 4 pts.

Hereford Youth Foundation of America Debuts Vanier Family Scholarship Fund

Highlighting the scholarship offering this fall is a special gift from Jack and Donna Vanier of CK Ranch, Brookville, Kan. The Vanier family will award a $10,000 Vanier Family Scholarship to 10 Hereford youth who demonstrate a strong work ethic, commitment to higher education and have overcome obstacles in his or her life.
