Ash, Buck Top Showmanship Contest at Junior National Hereford Expo
KANSAS CITY, Mo. ­­­— Amanda Ash, Newton, Wis., was chosen champion senior showman July 5 at the Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE) in Grand Island, Neb. Reserve champion was Bailey Buck, Madill, Okla.
After narrowing the field from 134 entries, the top 10 seniors not only had to prove themselves in the showring, but also at the fitting chute.
The other finalists were: third place – Brooke Brumley, Orovada, Nev.; fourth place – Kyle Lemmon, Manchester, Md.; fifth place – Anna Krieger, Universal, Ind.; sixth place – Marie Lock, Avon, Ill.; seventh place – Corey Ruff, Wagontown, Pa.; eighth place – Amanda Bacon, Siloam Springs, Ark.; ninth place – Mallorie Phelps, Grandview, Texas; and 10th place – Matt Johnson, Cambridge, Ill.
In the intermediate division, Kayla Keahey, Grand Saline, Texas, was named champion and Lauren Prill, Wichita, Kan., was reserve.
Junior division champion was Brock Courtney, Pryor, Okla., and reserve was Abby Geye, Rising Star, Texas.
Alex Harris, Franklin, Texas, was named champion peewee showman and Mason Allan, Schulenburg, Texas, was reserve champion peewee.
