AHA Announces Spring 2014 Gold TPR Breeders, Spring EPDs Online

  

Eighty-nine dedicated Hereford breeders achieved Gold TPRTM (Total Performance Records) status for spring 2014, according to the American Hereford Association (AHA).

Also, the AHA has released the updated EPDs for spring 2014. The EPDs and the updated Trends, Traits and Distributions report is available online at Hereford.org.

The Gold TPR Breeder recognition is presented to progressive Hereford breeders who have measured traits and collected and promptly submitted performance data at all levels of production.

Lambert Elected American Hereford Association President

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Steve Lambert, Oroville, Calif. was announced as the new president of the American Hereford Association (AHA) during the Annual Membership Meeting in Kansas City, Mo., Nov. 2.
 
Steve is a second-generation Hereford breeder, who was active showing cattle as a youth on the state and national levels.

Hereford Annual Meeting Weekend Planned

Hereford enthusiasts from across the U.S. will enjoy three days of events and activities including educational forums, the Annual Meeting and the National Hereford Show during the American Royal.

Hereford Demand Continues to Increase

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Despite drought and escalating costs in the beef industry, Hereford breed demand continues to increase as production sale averages increased $500 during fiscal year 2013. Hereford breeders continue to experience a dramatic increase in production sale prices and reports of private-treaty sales continue to out-pace the previous year reports.

Churchill Donates Three Sale Lots to Hereford Research Foundation

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — For the third year in a row, Churchill Cattle Co. is graciously donating proceeds to the Hereford Research Foundation (HRF) from its fall sale.

This year, the “World Class Female Sale” will take place Friday, Sept. 20, at the ranch near Manhattan, Mont. Dale and Nancy Venhuizen have generously donated proceeds from not just one, but three lots. Two will be semen lots, the other is a dining experience during the American Hereford Association Annual Meeting in Kansas City.

GKB Cattle Donates Heifer to Benefit Hereford Youth

 KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Gary and Kathy Buchholz of GKB Cattle, Waxahachie, Texas, have generously donated GKB 8144 Notice Me Too B19 ET to sell as Lot 1, the foundation female, Jan. 17 during the Mile High Night Sale during the National Western Stock Show in Denver. All proceeds will benefit the Hereford Youth Foundation of America (HYFA) and the “Growing a Lasting Legacy” campaign supporting leadership and education for the next generation of Hereford youth.
